My Soundtrack

It was really hard for me to think of 5 songs that describe my life, so I mixed it up. Some of these songs are songs that bring up a lot of memories, have a great message, or just really fun listening to. Here they are:

1. The Best Day of My Life-American Authors

A wave of nostalgia always hits me every time I hear the first notes of this song. The song takes me back to fourth grade when it actually came out. I remember being obsessed with it at the time, especially since we were playing the song on instruments in music class. It also causes me to remember so many memories of fourth-grade, like the Red Riding Hood Play, the Bowling Party, and the awards assembly at the end of the year.

2. Bibia Be Ye Ye-Ed Sheeran

One lyric of this song "Se enioma enko ye, Bibia Be Ye Ye" translates to "If things aren't going well, everything will be all right". The song has a similar message to "Don't worry, be happy" that always helps me out whenever I'm feeling stressed. The uplifting beat also always puts me in a good mood, which is why I love listening to it.

3. Who's Laughing Now-Jessie J

This song reminds so much of my childhood, around first or second grade. My sister had introduced me to it at first, and I absolutely loved it. I must've played the music video at least 1,000 times, even as a young 8-year-old.

4. Good Old Days- Macklemore ft. Kesha

The lyrics to this song are so relatable and truthful. The vocalists sing about the "Good Old Days" and how they wish they didn't take them for advantage. The song reminds me that I shouldn't be taking advantage of my time, and that I should enjoy my life as a young eighth-grader.

5. I Lived-One Republic

Did you know that the writer of this song wrote it for his child? The song is about living life to the fullest, and he wanted his kid to not be afraid of taking risks and trying new things. The lyrics are really thought out, and my favorite one is "With every broken bone, I swear I lived." This means that even though something might seem like it turned out really bad, you're still living and breathing, so it's really not that bad. The song has a great message, and it's really inspirational too.

Even though these songs don't really "describe" my life, they are important to me and a play a big  part of my life.
