My Gratitude List
I'm sitting on my couch right now, finally starting this blog-post after procrastinating the whole week. It's a bright Sunday morning. I can hear the birds chirping and the landscaper mowing the grass in my backyard. As I think of things I'm grateful for, I notice how almost everything I'm blessed with is beneficial to me in some way, from everything big like the roof over my head to everything tiny like the shoes I wear. Since I can't name everything I'm grateful for, I'll name my top 10.
I'm thankful for...
1. My parents, who have continued to care for me, no matter how annoyed I make them.
2. My brother and sister, who I can always go to for advice and when I'm bored.
3. My friends, who will always be there for me when nobody else can.
4. Food and water, which keeps me alive and well.
5. My health, which allows me to do everyday things like running and jumping.
6. School, which teaches me new things and prepares me for the future.
7. Books and movies, which keep me occupied when I need to escape reality every once in a while.
8. Music, which always cheers me up when I'm feeling down.
9. Technology like my phone and computer, which allow me to talk with my friends and have fun.
10. Living in the U.S.A., which grants me opportunities and rights that many people around the world aren't given.
As I read over my gratitude list again, I realize how much I take advantage of these things and how a lot of people aren't as fortunate as I am. I'll continue to think about these items through my Thanksgiving break, and I'll be more grateful for them.
